Urbanism-Urbanity I
In Extensio proposes a concert on the theme of urbanism, the infrastructures of the city of their origin, and urbanity, the interaction of the people living in these cities. This concert features works of five emerging composers each of whom comes from a different region of Canada: André Cayer (Quebec, Canada Council commissioning grant, 2006), Geoffrey Holbrook (Ontario, Canada Council commissioning grant, 2007), Neil Middleton (Saskatchewan), Emily Hall (Prince Edward Island, in progress) and Tawnie Olson (Alberta, in progress). Each work shows the unique vision of the composer as related to the socio-cultural context of their geographical background.
Topographie, a concert of new music with folk influences
In Extensio proposes to visit the landscapes of different areas of the world through works by René Oréa-Sanchez (Canada-Venezuela), Etelka Nyilasi (Canada-Hungary), Yiorgos Vassilandonakis (Greece) and Tomi Räisänen (Finland).
Pro-fusion : In Extensio meets Flotilla
Modern cities are the places of great cultural diversity, with many possibilities of blending cultures and art forms. Pro-fusion seeks to show the richness of the modern artistic milieu by showcasing the intersection of two musical styles : contemporary music and indy rock. The program features composers and musicians who find themselves in the middle of this intersection, one foot squarely in contemporary classical music, the other foot in indy rock. Works by Geof Holbrook, Malina Rauschenfels, Catherine Likhuta and Emily Hall will be played by contemporary ensemble In Extensio and indy rock band Flotilla.

Old world-new world
There are many lines of friendship between France and Canada, as highlighted in Quebec ‘s 400th anniversary celebrations. Old world/new world, a commissioning project of works by French and Canadian composers for flute, clarinet and percussion seeks to encourage continuing friendship. With these new works, we tease apart the idea of what is old and new by playing with the interactions between 'old' instruments, or our familiar acoustic instruments, and 'new' instruments, or use of new music technology to create and transform sound. Selected composers will have the opportunity to write a piece using new digital instruments.

Urbanism-Urbanity : A mari usque ad mare
This concert proposes a train voyage across Canada, from one ocean to the other, from east to west. During this journey, the audience will visit, in music and images, the five regions and cities of the emerging composers. At each stop, the visiter will take the train for the next destination and admire the passing Canadian landscape. Visual artists Gilles Morissette, Michelle Héon and Pierre Tremblay will create video projections on screens that takes us on this train travel.
